Seminars are among the places where we can gain more knowledge related to a topic. During my four months of internship at URC Urban Planning, I had the opportunity to participate in two seminars to increase my knowledge in the field of town planning.

SEMINAR 01

Geodisaster Risk Reduction Seminar Towards Resilient Settlements

This seminar was held at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. This seminar aims to provide exposure and understanding to the participants on how to reduce the risk of geodisasters. In addition, it aims to promote aspects of geodisaster risk management in the preparation of development plans and finally to apply aspects of geodisaster risk reduction in various fields and disciplines. The seminar is organized for two days starting on July 4 and ending on July 5, 2022. The seminar presents six papers presented by the Local Government Department, Malaysian Architects Association, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu, Public Works Department, and Shah Alam City Council.

TREE PRESERVATION ORDER

This seminar was held on Zoom Meeting online platform. This seminar aims to provide exposure and understanding related to tree preservation orders in local authority areas based on the provisions of section VA, Act 172. The seminar is organized for a one day which is on July 22, 2022. These seminar presented by Mr. Nor Mazlan Mohd Yunus, Chief Assistant Senior Director of PLANMalaysia Planning Regulatory Legal Division.
